Here at Sweet Smart, we love working with self-published authors. I’m actually one myself so I understand the business well.
One thing many self-published authors do is write books in series. Writing in series allows them to give away the first book, turning casual readers into fans that will then invest in the remainder of the series.
But there’s no easy way to display your books in series on websites anywhere – at least, not until now.
I’ve written a plugin for WordPress that allows authors to simply enter details about their new releases – titles, cover, buy buttons, and more – in a basic form on the back end.
Just save the form and presto! Like magic, the book appears in the right series on a variety of different pages.
Series can even be embedded inside pages and posts. You can control the order series are displayed in, and the order of books within that series. Books can show buy buttons, audio excerpts, and links to your own online WooCommerce shop.
And because we wrote the code, if you require a custom change to the functionality, that’s no problem.
I created a sample website so you can see how the library functionality works in action. It’s not the prettiest site, but it’s a good demo of the kind of functionality you can get easily and quickly if you build your website with us.
